 WHY CHILDREN ARE USEFUL

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

MESSAGE!
Children are not just God’s property; they are also God’s weapons of war. This is why you must be very careful in the way you handle or treat them. Jesus gave us a fascinating revelation about children in Matthew 18:10, where He said:
“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angles do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”
For the revelation, we understand that every child has at least one angel guiding him or her. Have you seen an angel before? By His grace I have seen them a couple of times and I can say that they can be fearfully huge, particularly some of the mighty angels. If you were to meet one of such angels, the first thing he will likely say to you is “Fear not!” Why? Nobody will see an angel for the first time without being terrified. Speaking of the size of some of the mighty angels: although one of the world’s largest airplanes is an Airbus A380, do you know that one mighty angel can carry this airplane on the palm of his hand? God says that every child has an angel and every one of such angels has direct access to God. Attaching a powerful angel to a child is what makes children a terrific weapon. If you mess around with a child, you are inviting an angel of God to deal with you.
Moreover, children are weapons in God’s hands because we the older ones are so preoccupied with the hustle and bustle of life that our ears have become dull of hearing. When God speaks, we often don’t hear, but the ears of children are open to God. They do not worry as we do. In fact, children believe that all they need will be provided for by their parents. So time after time, when God wants to send a message, He could send it through a child. This is one reason why parents must adhere strictly to God’s word in raising their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. A child that is brought up to love and fear the Lord will be a great asset and tool in God’s hands. Such a family, as busy as the parents may be, will not lack divine direction, as the children will be able to hear from God. How often does God speak to your children? Are you raising them in the ways of God?

God may have been speaking to your godly children. If they have not told you, it could be that you have not created a conducive atmosphere for them to do so.

“WHERE TO FOCUS IS JESUS”

There are situations that threaten to wreck your life as a person, the church, the Body of Christ or the nation. For God to intervene, He needs a man who is willing to arise, who is willing to risk his life. Those great things and eternal things that took place in the past had always taken place because someone somewhere decided to believe God, and to arise. Most men that God ever used were not men that had great resources in themselves. But there is one thing they did: they believed God and arose. They refused to sit where the devil was putting them. They refused to agree to dwell in the place of their predicament.

“And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians…”
2 Kings 7:3-5 KJV

They arose and God stood with them.

One of the things that keep men lower than what God wants them to be is the fear of death, the fear of failure, the fear of losing out, the fear of the unknown, the fear of the unfamiliar ground. Any man that is not willing to take a step of faith will never experience divine intervention. A step of faith is often a step of risk. Many times your intellect, your human sense tells you that what you are doing is unreasonable and very risky. People who discover the ability and the provision of God for their lives were those that were not going to allow themselves to be glued to their familiar experiences. They were men who were willing to say, “Lord, if it is you I will come.”

Peter took such a step of faith in Matthew 14:24-33. The Bible says they were in the boat and a great storm was blowing and there was nothing they could do to calm the storm. They tried all their expertise and some of them must have felt that the end had come. Even if you know how to swim, how do you swim in turbulent water, in a stormy and confused situation? Suddenly that night, the Lord Jesus began to walk on the water towards them. As He was approaching them, they began to fear again, thinking He was a ghost. But the Lord Jesus said, “Be of good cheer, it is I.”

Peter, right inside that confusion, spoke, “Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water.” Thomas Didymus must have been shivering and saying “Peter, Peter, Peter you are too daring. You like to take useless and unreasonable risks. We said that thing that is coming is a ghost; you want to compare yourself with a ghost? And you are married; you want to die for nothing? Andrew must have said, “Peter, we are from the same family; what do you want me to go and tell our father at home?” But Peter said, “If it is you bid me to come.” The Master said, ‘Come’. As long as it was the Master who told Peter to come, Peter had every reason to arise, to arise from that confusion, from that gloom, to arise from that storm and to step out in faith. Others were calling, others were shivering, some were saying their last prayer because they knew that any moment, they could perish. But Peter seemed to have said, “even if that boat is going to capsize, it is not going to meet me there. Since the Master says, come, I will go to meet Him.”

The man took the first step, not on a bridge and remembers that by the time he arose, the storm had not stopped. The wind was still blowing. But he heard only one word from the mouth of the Master, which kept him going: that word, “come.” Others might be shouting ‘Peter! Peter!! Peter!!!’ Peter could have said, “Leave me alone. The Master has said ‘come’ and I go to meet Him.” He took the second; the third step and he did not sink because he was acting on the word from the Master. He must have been repeating that word in his heart, and as he was doing that he was focusing on Jesus. As long as he focused on what the Master said, even if the storm became twenty times stronger and the wind more boisterous, it could not overcome the word of command from the Master.

The moment you learn to walk by the word of God and not by your feelings, not by environmental conditions, you are bound to prevail. Others must have wished they followed Peter when they saw the confidence with which he went especially as the storm had not subsided in the boat. But when Peter decided no more to look at the Master, the Author and the Finisher of our faith, he began to sink.

A great lesson God must teach us is never to shift our focus from Jesus as soon as we take steps to arise from our present situation. One thing is certain: that we can also arise. We can refuse to sit here yet, without being presumptuous. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will particularly speak to your heart. He will speak to your spirit and cause you personally to arise. As you arise things will change concerning you, your family, your business, the work of God, the Body of Christ and concerning our nation in the name of Jesus Christ (Amen).

Someone once said that the reason I can live like I do is because I have “special faith.” But, you know, that’s just not true. I don’t have “special faith.” God has given me the same measure of faith He’s given to you and every other believer. The only reason my faith looks like it works better is because I use it!
If you’ve been living in the shadow of a mountain, waiting for God to give you some kind of special faith, make a change today. Step out and put the measure of faith you have to work moving the spiritual, physical, mental or financial obstacles Satan has brought against you.
Romans 12:3 says God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. Believe Him! Step out in faith about that faith! Say, “Heavenly Father, I thank You that through faith in Jesus Christ, You have shared Your nature and Your Spirit with me. I am grateful for the measure of faith imparted to me as a believer.
“I make the decision today to walk in that faith—to put it to work on the situations around me. I commit myself to operate in mountain-moving faith, for I know that it is impossible to please You without it (Hebrews 11:6).
“As I plant this faith and water it with Your Word (Romans 10:17), I expect it to grow and overcome the mountains in my life and in the lives of those for whom I intercede.
“Thank You, Father, that as I do this, nothing shall be impossible to me! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen – Take Refuge In Him

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE:

“Taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”

TODAY’S WORD:

Where do you take refuge when the storms of life come? Where do you go for comfort and safety? Some people find it easy to turn to their friends, their job, or even a bowl of ice cream. There’s nothing wrong with any of those things, but God wants us to turn to Him first. He wants us to take refuge in Him. He longs to protect us, defend us and give us His strength. We serve a good God, and when we take refuge in Him, He will pour out His abundant blessing in our lives.

Taste and see that the Lord is good, and His promises are good. When you turn to God, the Bible promises that you will find rest and refuge for your soul. No matter what you may be facing today, come to the Father. He will give you His peace and strength as you take refuge in Him.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, today I open my heart to You. Thank You for Your peace and rest and for showing me Your hand of blessing as I take refuge in You in Jesus’ name. Amen.“

2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

MESSAGE!

The dawning of your day of favour causes God to beckon to you. God beckons to you to bring you close to His power. In whatever way the Lord is beckoning to you, may you not be insensitive or blind to it in Jesus’ Name! The sceptre that the king stretched towards Esther in today’s Bible reading is a symbol of power. When Esther went near the king, she touched the sceptre. When you touch the sceptre of the King of kings, not only will your history be rewritten, the history of your entire race will begin to change at the same time. According to Esther 4:11, anyone who went before King Ahasuerus uninvited would be executed instantly, regardless of who they were, except he lifted his sceptre towards them. by lifting  the sceptre towards Esther, the king changed death to life for her.

During a Holy Ghost Service held in the first auditorium at the Redemption Camp, the Lord said that there was someone in attendance whom the enemies had planned to kill, but because the fellow had come to the programme the night, death had been cancelled. Everybody said “Amen” without knowing who God was specifically referring to. In the congregation that night was a particular woman to whom some people were heavily indebted. When these debtors felt they could not pay, they decided to kidnap and kill her so that they could be free from their debt without repaying. After the programme, they kidnapped her, bound and threw her into the boot of their car and began to drive towards a forest in Badagry (a border town between Lagos and the Republic of Benin), where they planned to kill her. On their way, they came across a police checkpoint. That was not supposed to be a problem, as they had already packaged cash brides to be offered to all the policemen they came across along the way. But because God had already cancelled the plan of death for this woman, when they offered the money to the policeman, he turned it down and said he wanted to see what was in their boot. That they increased the bribe offer, but the policeman declined and insisted on seeing what was in their boot. When they saw that their game was up, they fled. The police man opened the boot, saw the woman and released her. Just as He did for this woman, today, the Lord is stretching His sceptre of power towards you. Wherever the enemy had planned something against you, the Lord will make a way of escape for you. Praise the Lord!  

Prayer Point

 

Father, stretch Your sceptre of power to me; let it touch me and thwart the plans of the enemy against the glorious destiny You have for me.

Man’s success is tied to being in the centre of God’s will for His life.

God is attracted only to those who live in the centre of His will.

Things fall apart when the centre no longer holds but things falls in place when the centre is intact.

Remain intact in His will and everything around you will remain and abide intact.

Heaven shifts its head quarters and tabernacles and gravitates towards and revolves around wherever God’s will is celebrated on earth.

Heavens shifts towards just anyone and everyone who shifts towards divine will.

A Willing Heart

And the Lord said to Moses, Speak to the Israelites, that they take for Me an offering. From every man who gives it willingly and ungrudgingly with his heart you shall take My offering.
—Exodus 25:1-2

When we talk about a willing heart, we are basically talking about “want to.” Without it we will never do anything.

“Want to” is a powerful thing. With it you can lose weight, keep your house clean, save money, get out of debt, or reach any other goal in life you may have set for yourself. You don’t really like to face the fact that your victory or defeat has a lot to do with your “want to.”

We like to blame everything on someone or something else. But you need to sit down and take a good old-fashioned inventory of your “want to.” You need to be honest enough to say, “Lord, I didn’t win the victory because I really didn’t want to.” Tonight, ask the Lord to give you plenty of “want to.”

Life Under The New Covenant Oct 05, 2015

What laws was God referring to when He said, “I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts”? He was certainly not referring to the Ten Commandments, known as the laws of the old covenant, since He said that He found fault with that covenant and declared it obsolete. (Hebrews 8:7–9, 13)

The laws that God puts in our minds and writes on our hearts refer to the royal law of love (Matthew 22:37–40), the perfect law of liberty (James 1:25) and the law of faith. (Romans 3:27) These are the laws of the new covenant.

You live according to the laws of the new covenant when you are conscious of how much God loves you. And the more you are conscious of His love for you, the more your heart is filled with love. When that happens, you will love God and the people around you supernaturally and effortlessly. That is God writing on your heart the royal law of love—that we love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

Secondly, when you know that you are perfectly accepted by God because of Jesus’ sacrifice, you can have the courage and liberty as a child of God to come boldly into the presence of your heavenly Father. And in His presence, He is able to write on your heart new desires. You will find yourself wanting to do the right thing at the right time. You will live life victoriously from the inside out. This is the perfect law of liberty operating in your life.

Thirdly, when you sense what God is writing on your heart and putting in your mind, and as your faith is activated causing you to trust Him and His love for you, He calls it obeying the law of faith. When that happens, whatever you believe, you receive!

My friend, God has made it easy—and you will find that it is exciting—to live life under the new covenant!

Thought For The Day

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9
It’s wonderful to know you’ve been set free from the law of sin and death. It’s glorious to know you never again have to submit to the slavery of sin. But what do you do when, in spite of those wonderful, glorious truths, you still miss the mark? What do you do when you stumble and fall into sin?
Run to your Father and repent!
That sounds simple. But oddly enough we often do just the opposite. Instead of running to God, we let fear and guilt drive us further and further from Him. We start thinking things like, Well, I’ve missed it now. I might as well forget the rest of it and live like the devil.
Don’t make that mistake. Don’t let Satan talk you into sinning in one area of your life just because you missed it in another. When you get off track with God, just confess it and get right back on.
“But, Brother Copeland, I feel so guilty when I tell God what I’ve done that it’s hard for me to make myself do it.”
I know. I used to feel that way too. Then, one day, God said to me, Kenneth, when you confessed that sin wasn’t when I found out about it. I knew about it all the time! When you confessed it is when you got rid of it, when you were cleansed of its effects in your life.
When you make a mistake, when you miss the mark, remember, you have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous (1 John 2:1). Run to Him! He knows what you are going through. You don’t need to be afraid. He didn’t tear you apart for the sins you committed before you made Him Lord of your life, did He? Then how much more merciful and loving do you think He’ll be now that you’re His own? Now that you’re reaching out for Him and have a heart for Him?
Don’t run from God. Run to Him. Receive His forgiveness. Receive His cleansing. No matter how badly you’ve sinned, He’s eager to forgive and to cleanse you of all unrighteousness.

STEALING FROM GOD 

Memorise: For ye are brought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1st Corinthians 6:20

Read: 1st Corinthians 6:18-20, 18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

 

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

MESSAGE!

The Bible makes it clear that aside from stealing from men, it is also possible to steal from God. Malachi 3:8 says:

“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.”

Your tithe is one tenth of your income, increase or profit. It belongs to God and should be set aside for God immediately after the provision comes. Not paying your tithes can introduce a curse from God into the blessing He has given you. If a man curses you, someone with a higher spiritual authority can break the curse. For example, if your pastor curses you, the general overseer with a higher spiritual authority can break it; but if God curses you, to whom will you run? It is important you pay back to God 10% of everything He gives to you. It is also important you do it the way He expects it to be done. Your tithe must be brought into God’s storehouse, and God must be given a free hand to spend it as He directs. Some people believe that as children of God, they can use their tithes to rescue someone who is in need or in critical condition in the hospital. No! You don’t have the right! If you spend your tithe like that, in God’s record, you will still be a debtor.

In addition, you can also steal from God by denying Him access to, or using inappropriately, whatever part of you He has claimed ownership of. In today’s memory verse, we see that God has claimed ownership of our body and our spirit. He therefore expects that anything we do with our body will be such that will bring glory to His Name. Doing otherwise is stealing from God. For example, overeating, or taking any substance that can destroy your body, makes your body unavailable to its Owner; this amounts to stealing from Him. Anytime you engage your body in any sinful act, you are guilty of inappropriate use of God’s property and therefore a thief. Also, God demands access to your spirit in the place of prayer and meditating on His word. If you deny Him this, you are stealing from Him because He has claimed ownership of your spirit.  If at the time you should be fellowshipping with God in your spirit, you are busy watching television or engaging in any other type of activity that does not connect your spirit to God, you are stealing your spirit away from God. In what ways have you stolen from God? Repent and restitute today.

Prayer Point

 

Father, in whatever ways I have stolen from You, I ask that You forgive me. I repent of these and ask for grace to glorify You with my body and spirit at all times.
