The verse says that Jesus always lives to make intercession for us. Once, I used to think that this meant that Jesus is seated at the Father’s right hand today, praying all the time for us, waiting and hoping that the Father will do something for us.
But that is not true. Look at what Jesus prayed when He stood before Lazarus’ tomb. He declared, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.” (John 11:41) He prayed these words even before Lazarus came forth from his tomb alive. Jesus knew that what He said would come to pass because the Father always hears Him. (John 11:42)
So what does “Jesus always lives to make intercession for us” mean?
Because Jesus is our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14), we get a picture of what happens when we pray when we understand what the high priest in the Old Testament did with the burnt offering of a bird. (Leviticus 1:14–17)
The birds brought to the high priest are a picture of our prayers “flying” to the Lord Jesus because we pray to the Father in Jesus’ name. Now, just as the high priest removes the bird’s feathers after killing it, Jesus removes all that is superfluous and unclean from our prayers, such as unbelief and self-centeredness.
Then, just as the high priest offers the bird as a burnt sacrifice, a sweet aroma to the Lord, Jesus our High Priest adds His perfection, beauty, excellence and fragrance, which the Father so delights in, to our prayers. That is how He presents our prayers to the Father. That is how He lives to make intercession for you.
My friend, you don’t have to run to a church leader to get him to pray “more powerfully” for you. You can pray yourself. Then, take advantage of Jesus’ intercession for you and say, “Lord Jesus, I don’t know what else to say…please intercede for me.” And when Jesus gives His personal touch to your prayer, you can be sure that it will be answered!
Jesus removes all that is superfluous and unclean from our prayers, and adds His perfection, beauty, excellence and fragrance to them!
When we see something moldy, we throw it away. But when Alexander Fleming saw his culture dishes contaminated with mold, he discovered penicillin. You see, he had a gift which prospered him.
Joseph, a Hebrew slave in Egypt, had nothing except his gift of interpreting dreams. But look at what that gift did for him. It prospered him. He interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and became the most powerful man in Egypt after Pharaoh. (Genesis 41)
“But Pastor Prince, what if I don’t have any gift?”
My friend, don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t have any gift. God has given each person a gift which can open doors of opportunities and bring in great blessings.
Maybe you are just not aware of that gift you have inside you, or perhaps it has profited you nothing thus far as you have not found out how best to use it. You need to take your gift and ask God for wisdom to cultivate it until it becomes such a powerful tool or “precious stone” that wherever you turn, you prosper.
This was the case with a church brother who was tremendously gifted in the creative arts. For a long time, he lacked the confidence and boldness to leave the security of his police job and step out on his own. But when he began to seek God’s wisdom for his situation, God gave him boldness to leave his job and go back to school to pursue the creative arts. In school, he prospered, becoming one of its top students and impressing the principal so much with his creative gift that he was offered a teaching position in the school even before he graduated.
Now, please don’t go and quit your job after reading this. What you should do is ask God for wisdom regarding your gift. For when the wisdom of God is added to your gift, that gift becomes “a precious stone in the eyes of its possessor; wherever he turns, he prospers”.
Ask God for wisdom to cultivate your gift until it becomes such a “precious stone” that wherever you turn, you prosper.
CLAIMING UNCLAIMED HARVESTS
Memorise: I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. John 4:38
Read: John 4:35-38, 35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
Bible in one year: Numbers 20:1-21:30, 2nd Corinthians 11:1-15
MESSAGE!
Total restoration is possible for those who believe in God. Beyond total restoration, it is equally possible to be a recipient of uncommon restoration. An uncommon restoration occurs in a situation where your progenitors laboured without a harvest, but when you turned up, you received the reward for all their labours. That was the experience of the children of Israel. For 430 years, they laboured for Egypt without pay. The generation of their fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, and others laboured but were not paid; then came the generation that Moses had to lead out of Egypt. The very night they were to go, all the salaries of their fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers and so on were delivered to them (Exodus 12:33-36). Have generations before you laboured without pay? Congratulations! You are the one to enter into their harvest! All that your progenitors worked for, but never got, shall be delivered to you in Jesus ‘ Name.
Similarly, in some families, a curse of no reward has been placed on them. Due to this curse, “labour without harvest” has become their household name for successive generations. Is that your situation? Has someone placed a curse of “work without reward” on your lineage? Today, that curse is broken! All the harvests of your ancestors that they could not get shall be delivered to you in Jesus’ Name. Moreover, this is also applies to ministers of the gospel. Jesus in John 4:38 says:
“I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.”
Labouring and harvesting are two distinct things. Not everyone who labours receives a commensurate harvest. Within this context, we can safely say that there are three categories of people: those who labour but never enter into their harvest, and those who access the harvest of others, irrespective of whether they laboured for it or not. This explains why some people, including pastors, labour so hard and long at some particular locations without any fruit. After they become discouraged and leave, some others come into the same location and without doing anything much, they begin to reap what they never sowed. You shall not lose your harvest anymore! You shall receive your full harvest and even enter into the unclaimed harvests of others in Jesus Name!
Prayer Point
Father, frustrate every plan to separate me from my harvest, and link me up with the unclaimed harvest of those who have gone ahead of me in my family and in my field of labour.
Weariness is satan’s weapon to frustrate the saints from taking their blessings.
It comes when hope seems gone and waiting seems not necessary any longer.
When weariness is not stemed it extends to frustration which in turn can open the door to all kinds of evil.
If you want to escape weariness, tame your utterances.
To dismantle weariness offer strong thanksgiving and praise to God always. Thanksgiving are hardly worn out, thanksgiving naturally wears out the enemy.

And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I. God said, Do not come near; put your shoes off your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground.
—Exodus 3:3-5
Moses removed his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. Just moments before, it was ordinary ground—now it was holy. God’s presence made it holy!
You are God’s tabernacle. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. He lives in you! Wherever you go, He goes. If you go to the grocery store; if you go play golf; if you go to work—He goes. Ordinary things and places are not holy in themselves, but when we go and do them God has promised to be with us. And any place God is becomes holy.
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24, NKJV
TODAY’S WORD:
Every day that we are given is a precious gift from Almighty God. We should wake up every morning with a grateful attitude, full of faith and expectancy for what the Lord has in store. Sure, you may be facing some challenges in your life, or maybe things aren’t going the way you planned. But remember, each new day is a chance to stand strong in the midst of adversity and see the faithfulness of God. Every new day is an opportunity to praise and thank Him, to magnify your God instead of magnifying your problems.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! Be glad that God has promised to never leave you or forsake you. Be glad that God has given you a sound, healthy mind. Rejoice that He is making a way where there seems to be no way! Focus on the gift of each and every day and rejoice in what God has done in your life!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
“Father, today I choose to rejoice in You. Thank You for this day and for every opportunity that You’ve given me to praise You and be a blessing to others. I give You everything I am today and always in Jesus’ name. Amen.“
