NEWS UPDATE: Instagram fined $402 million for failure in Children’s Data Protection

In a statement by the Ireland’s data privacy regulator, its has agreed to fine a record levy of $402 million against social network Instagram following an investigation into its handling of children’s data. Though the social media giant plans to appeal against the fine, a spokesperson for its parent company, Meta, said in an emailed statement.
Focused on child users between the ages of 13 and 17, the investigation, which began in 2020 targeted users who were allowed to operate business accounts, which facilitated the publication of the user’s phone number and/or email address.
Though Instagram updated its settings over a year ago and has since released new features to keep teens safe and their information private, the Meta spokesperson said. We disagree with how the fine was calculated and we are carefully reviewing the decision, the spokesperson also said.

NEWS UPDATE: Chelsea Sacks Head Coach Thomas Tuchel

The Blues Head Coach Thomas Tuchel was fired less than 24 hours after the club lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League group stage. Though they haven’t being doing well, having lost two of their opening six Premier League fixtures.
The club management said in a statement that Tuchel will have a place in Chelsea’s history after an undisputable Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup win in his time there.




The management also added that it is the right time to make this transition as the the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward.
In the mean time, the club’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of their upcoming matches as they make moves to appoint new head coach.
