Be Meek – Be Happy By Billy Graham • September 12

In His characteristic way Jesus was saying something quite shocking and revolutionary to His listener with these words, “Happy are the meek.” He was saying something quite the opposite of our modern concept of the way to happiness. We say, “Happy are the clever, for they shall inherit the admiration of their friends”; “Happy are the aggressive, for they shall inherit a career”; “Happy are the rich, for they shall inherit a world of friends and a house full of modern gadgets.” Jesus did not say, “Be meek and you shall inherit the earth.” He, more than anyone else, knew that meekness was a gift of God, a result of rebirth. Jesus was not issuing a command in this Beatitude nor saying, “You ought to be meek, that is the way to live.” No! He was saying that if we want to find the secret of happiness, that if we want to enjoy living, then “meekness” is a basic key.

Prayer for the day

May I truly reflect Your meekness in my life, Lord.

Bishop David Abioye- WHEN FAITH WORKS Today: 2015-09-12

WHEN FAITH WORKS

Today: 2015-09-12

Faith works when a matter is worse, faith works at odd times.

Faith works in hard situations.

Faith does not work along but against circumstances.

Faith is at its best when things are not working in the natural.

Faith is most excited when the battle is on.

Faith is able and ready to confront all levels of battle.

The strength of faith is exhibited only in fighting battles of life.

YOUR DESTINY IS UNSTOPPABLE

Memorise: Thou wilt say then unto me, why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Romans 9:19

Read: Jeremiah 1:4-7, Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Bible in one year: Exodus 27-28, Romans 12:9-13:7

MESSAGE

If God has a destination for you, your present situation cannot stop Him. The circumstances of life surrounding young Esther as a slave girl did not stop her from becoming queen of a very powerful kingdom. In the Name of Jesus Christ, your present circumstances shall not stop you from arriving at your God-appointed destiny! Similarly, concerning where God is taking you, your past does not matter. 2nd Corinthians 5:17 says if you are in Christ, old things are passed away and everything has become new. For this reason, God commands you thus in Isaiah 43:18:

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.”

If you are sure of your salvation in Christ, whatever was in your past that the enemy wants to use in hindering your destiny will receive a divine touch. Everything in your past that can destroy your present and future, especially as relates to your destiny, shall be completely arrested by God today. From today, the mercy of God will go ahead of you, and your past shall no longer hinder you. Every accusing finger pointing at you shall stop in Jesus’ Name. The Lord says this to you in Romans 8:1:

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

Moreover, another vital information you should have is that God is the One who decides destinies. He told Jeremiah: “I have determined what you would be, long before I formed you and put you in your mother’s womb. While you were still in your mother’s womb, I ordained you to be a prophet to nations.” Long before you were born, God had already decided what you will be. He did not consult with your parents before taking His decisions about your destiny. If He did, they could have disqualified you. “Witches and wizards from your village” did not know what was going on at that time. They were not there when God was planning your life, hence they can’t stop you. In His mind, God has decided the following concerning you: it shall be well with you, you shall live to glorify His Name, you shall not die prematurely, you shall fulfil your destiny, and many more. Every good thing that the Lord has decided concerning you shall be established! Every destiny destroyer sent to hinder you shall fail and fall. Your tomorrow shall be far greater than your today. Every force that tries to hinder you shall be destroyed by the fire of the Holy Ghost in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point:

Father, paralyse every gang up of the enemy that wants to stop the good things You have started in my life.

Daily Devotional by Bishop David Abioye- THE POWER OF EXPECTATION Today: 2015-09-11

…Thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Proverbs 24:14

What you don’t expect you don’t experience

What you don’t desire you don’t deserve

If you don’t know what you want, you may die in want.

Hope is the backup of expectation, it is the anchor of the soul .1 Peter. 1:3; Acts 3:5; Ecclesiastes. 9:4

Expectation (hope) is the switch to proofs.

Psalm. 62:5-8; Romans. 5:5

Build up your expectation by searching God’s word.

God’s word is the building block for the glorious destiny you desire.

Open-Heavens-2015-22-23

In Numbers 16, we read of a highly explosive rebellion that rocked God’s people in the wilderness. Some leaders were not satisfied with the level of assignment God had apportioned to them. Instead of going through Moses to God to ask if there could be an expansion of their job description, they began to eye the priesthood. They wondered how God could give them so little an assignment considering their zeal to serve Him. How could some other people be chosen as the priests when they were there? At some point, they succeeded in convincing 250 popular leaders, who were princes, to favour their cause. What started like a joke had become a great revolt. In the end, the Lord Himself stepped in and delivered judgement to all concerned.

From this story, we should learn to be content with whatever God gives to us. God gives talents to every person according to their abilities. The Holy Spirit is in charge of assigning jobs descriptions to the children of God. 1st Corinthians 12:11 says:

“But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”

He is in charge of God’s vineyard, and so He is the One to give you the portion you should work on. Also, He will give you the required ability and the spiritual stamina to perform the assignment. Someone may say, “I am still an ordinary altar minister, whereas by now I should have become a zonal pastor.” The Holy Spirit knows why you are where you are. You can be sure that when you need to occupy a higher office than where you are now, He will take you there. However, to move up the ladder in God’s Kingdom is not by acts of the flesh but by the will of the Spirit. You are not permitted to seek higher office by scheming out your leader in order to take his place. Some people do this and succeed in replacing their leader, but they are completely outside of God’s plan and out of their divine assignment. They are no longer in God’s employment; they now serve their own bellies at best or the devil at worst. Any work done by such ecclesiastical rogues will never attract any reward from Heaven, because the foundation of that service is not the Holy Spirit. If they ever make it to Heaven, they will be told “You worked for yourself and not for God, so go and reward yourself.”

Key Point

Many leaders are operating in God’s permissive will, outside of His perfect will. That God has not stopped you from following your inordinate ambitions does not mean He approves or supports your actions.

Something Good by Joyce Meyer – posted September 11, 2015

And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely.
– Genesis 1:31

Everything God made is good; in fact, according to today’s scripture, it’s “very good.” Since He created you, He calls you “very good,” and I wonder if you can say the same about yourself. Many people do not think there is anything good about them, but that contradicts God’s Word.

The Bible asks an important question in Amos 3:3: Can two walk together unless they are agreed? (NKJV). If we want to walk with God, we must agree with Him. He says He loves us and accepts us. We need to agree with Him by loving and accepting ourselves.

To accept ourselves does not mean that we’re going to approve of everything we do. We may still do things that frustrate us or dis¬please God, but we don’t have to reject ourselves because of them. God doesn’t. When we accept ourselves, we can begin working on those things with God’s help, confident in the fact that He loves us.

When we don’t accept ourselves, we fall into self-rejection. Rejection actually multiplies our problems. People who reject themselves feel something is wrong with them. They see only their flaws and weak¬nesses, not their beauty and strength. This is an unbalanced attitude that doesn’t agree with God’s truth.

You can choose to accept yourself or you can choose to reject your¬self. You can also choose whether or not to agree with God and see yourself as “very good.” I know from experience that agreeing with God is always the best choice!

Love Yourself Today: Lord, I choose to agree that everything You have made is good—including me!

Daily Devotional by Pastor Joseph Prince- Kept In All Your Ways By God’s Angels

11
Sep

Psalm 91:11–12

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You are about to step onto the road when something pulls you back just in time to avoid being hit by a speeding car. You are shocked. When you come to your senses, you ask yourself, “Could it be that an angel just saved me from a fatal accident?”

I believe that angels walk with us. The verse tells us that God has given His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. And in their hands they will bear us up, so that not even a stone will trip us up.

But we may not know it when we encounter an angel. (Hebrews 13:2) This was probably the case with a couple in our church who were holidaying at a beach resort on Penang Island when a tsunami struck at about 12.30pm on 26 December 2004.

It was slightly past 11am when the wife suddenly had a craving for food from the mainland. The couple decided to check out earlier, so that they could reach the mainland in time for lunch. While loading their luggage into their car at the hotel driveway, a man impatiently motioned to them to hurry up and get moving.

Annoyed by his impatience, they quickly loaded their stuff and drove off. The minute they reached the mainland, they heard that a tsunami had struck Penang Island at the same beach where they were just a while ago. While thanking God for their narrow escape, it suddenly dawned on them that the impatient man could have been an angel charged by God to hurry them off!

God tells us that we have an innumerable company of angels. (Hebrews 12:22) And He has given them charge over us to protect us from accidents, natural disasters, terrorist bombings and other dangers. So don’t fear these things and lock yourself at home. Go for that holiday! Go for that lunch appointment! Believe that God loves you, and thank Him for His angels who walk with you and watch over you!

Thought For The Day

Don’t fear what the world fears because God loves you, and His angels walk with you and watch over you!
