_”So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”_

Unbelief is lack of confidence in God and His word. Unbelief simply means ” I trust God but I don’t believe He will do what He says He will do” This is the case of the Israelites in the wilderness after they had left Egypt. They witnessed so many wonders God performed in Egypt in order to bring them out. They saw how God parted the red sea and the Egyptians were buried in the sea, but in the wilderness they couldn’t trust God to carry them through to the land of Canaan. So, in Numbers 14:4 , they said “So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”

Do you remember Egypt? Where they were held captive for 430 years that they had to pray and pray before God brought them out. Egypt, where they were under task masters, where they had no freedom of speech and where nothing was for free for them. Egypt where they worked and no pay until God showed them favour. Yet, they wanted to go back. This is how unbelief has made many of God’s children not to see their future in the way God promises them . They couldn’t leave where they were suffering, sweating and sinning because they couldn’t trust God to fulfill His plans for them.

Unbelief is more destructive than the power of witches and wizard. Like our text says “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”This means , it does not matter the promises of God for your life, you will not be able to receive it, if you do not really trust God. Unbelief closes the door of great testimonies. So, how do you overcome it?
Firstly, make the word of God your friend. It is not just prayers that end unbelief, it is prayers with consistent reading, hearing the word that sends unbelief away. The reason people do not trust God enough is because they do not pay enough attention to His word.

Secondly, learn to listen and read the testimonies of others always, it will send unbelief away. It was the testimony of others in the bible that many people heard that gave them faith. People like Naaman of Syria, the woman with the issue of blood. And lastly, learn to reharse the past testimonies of God in your life. When you bring your mind to how God had helped you in the time past and say it to God in prayers, it sends unbelief away. This is key God gave to the Israelites when they left Egypt . Deuteronomy 7:18 says “you shall not be afraid of them, but you shall remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt:” When you reharse His past wonders in your mind and mouth, He will repeat His great wonders in your present challenge. Hallelujah

Confession
Father, thank you. You have helped me before, you will help me again and again. I remember how you saved, healed and blessed me , I believe, you will yet do greater things in my life now in the name of Jesus.
