“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (James 1:2-4, NIV).
When we follow in Jesus’ footsteps, it’s a guarantee that we’ll face trials, temptations, and persecutions. We can rejoice when we encounter them, knowing that temptation is the devil’s way of trying to get us to become weary in our Christian walk. A joyful attitude and the willingness to persevere are godly traits that are pleasing to God.
