GOODNEWS DEVOTIONAL. πŸ’£ TUESDAY, 19TH OF JUNE 2018 πŸ‘” WHAT THEY ARE SEEING IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT YOU ARE SEEING TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 - Triumphant Radio

” For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Christians are not expected to use thier physical senses to judge situations, we are expected to use our spiritual senses . Things in the physical could misslead us a believers, therefore it is good to look at every thing that concerns us from the eyes of the spirit. For instance, if you see someone who was not born again before but is now born again , there is likelihood that you may still see him or her as sinner whereas he/she has given his/her to Christ. So, as believers, we must see beyond the physical, we must see everyone and everything through the word of God .

In the journey of faith, how you see things matter. If you see every situation based on your physical senses, you would always find it hard to walk by faith. Faith sees beyond the physical, faith sees things through the eyes of God. This is the reason our text says “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” Walking by faith requires not walking by sight. It means , you should not allow what is happening to you to change your perception of God and His word. Waliking by faith means you are saying the word of God is true even when your present situation wants you to think other wise.

Therefore if you can not see by faith, you would not be able to walk by faith. Many Israelites died in the wilderness because they were judging things based on what they saw physically. What they saw in the physical could not allow them to trust God who had promised to take them to the promised land. In the wilderness when they went to spy the land. In Deuteronomy 1:28 they said “Where can we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our hearts, saying, β€œThe people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.” The problem here was that what they saw here was making them to change thier perception about God. If only they could just say to themselves that ” It does not matter who is there, God has promised us the land, we are going over ” They would have made it.

But while they were saying that the people were taller than them, the enemies too were afraid of them. When they were saying the enemies were too strong, the enemies were saying” The Israelites have killed us” Look at what the enemies said in Joshua 2:9-10″and said to the men: β€œI know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea… and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan,..” So, you were the one saying you could not make it or it will not be possible, God did not say so nor the devil. The enemy is afraid you, what they are seeing about you is not what you are seeing. They see you as a threat to them, they do not see you as bread they could eat but as a giant to kill them. So launch out in faith for your God is with you. Hallelujah.
